Geraldine studied at Epsom School of Art & Design and later at Exeter College of Art, where she specialised in ceramics. She graduated from Exeter in 1981 with a B.A. Hons in Fine Art. Geraldine lives and works in the westcountry. Her lively ceramic animal sculptures are well known in the area and her sculpture is in the University of Plymouth's collection. Admirers of her work include the novelist John Fowles. Geraldine's work can be seen at prestigious garden shows such as Chelsea and Hampton Court as well as a number of gallery outlets. Most sculptures are handbuilt giving each animal it's own individual character. A variety of clays and methods are used depending on the type and size of the piece to be made. The surface of the outdoor sculptures are finished with oxide colours and then fired to stoneware temperature which vitrifies the clay and renders them frost proof. The sculptures are not idealised models of animals but rather capture the characters and individuality of the animals she knows and loves.
